So, how do I talk to a real person in customer service?
However, if by “talk to” you mean a live, real-time conversation, this option is only available to Enterprise Plan subscribers who also have the Premium Support option – more on the support options here:

Opening a Support Ticket
If you are using a paid Miro subscription, you can open a Miro support ticket by following these instructions:
Hi
If you’re comfortable sharing a bit more detail about the issue you’re experiencing, we’ll do our best to assist you right here in the forum. Many questions can be resolved quickly with a bit of context.
If it turns out your issue needs Support intervention and you don’t have access to contact them directly based on your Miro plan, we can help escalate it and convert this thread into a support ticket for you.
Looking forward to hearing more!
How can I share and collaborate on a whiteboard with a student, including subscription level and cost on both my side and student's side?
On to paid options…
Well, first, I should mention the Education Plan. It, along with all paid options, would let you make a board editable to anyone with the link. Since you mentioned “student”, if you are a teacher at an accredited educational institution, you may quality for a free Education Plan. You can read more about (and apply for) it here.
Starter Plan or Business Plan
I’ll skip the Enterprise Plan altogether as that is likely not suitable here.
Starter Plan ($10 USD/month)
This would like you set a board to “public” (aka, Visitors access), so that that you could send the link to your student who could then edit the board (you could even password protect the board).
Note:
- While your student does not need a Miro account to edit he board, they would be limited in some of the tools they could use. More on this here. However, all they need to do is create a free Miro account to use more of the tools.
- When the board is public, anyone with the link could access the board.
Business Plan ($20 USD/month)
While the Business Plan also supports the public/visitor access, it also support Guest access which lets you invite the student directly to the board, so only they can access it (which does require them to create a free Miro account). This makes it a bit more secure, and can even let you add other users to the board, and with different permissions, e.g., student can edit, but another teacher could only view. More on the Guest feature here.
Likel the Starter Plan would meet your needs.
Hi
You can absolutely share and collaborate with a student on a Miro whiteboard, and there are a couple of ways to do it depending on your and your student’s needs:
Option 1: Share via Public Link (Visitor Access)
-
Plan Required: Any plan (including Free)
-
Student Needs: No Miro account required
-
Cost: Free for both
-
How: Set your board's sharing settings to "Anyone with the link can edit"
➤ Great for quick or one-time collaboration.
Option 2: Share with Specific Miro User (Guest Editor)
-
Plan Required: Starter plan or higher
-
Student Needs: Free Miro account
-
Cost: You only pay for your plan; guest editors are free
-
How: Invite them by email and grant them editor access without adding them to your team.
➤ Useful for ongoing or semi-regular collaboration.
Since you mentioned that this is for a student, I’m also curious: Are you using (or eligible for) Miro's Education Plan?
Miro offers free access to its Education Plan for students, educators, and academic institutions. This plan includes advanced features and unlimited boards — ideal for teaching and learning environments. You can check eligibility and apply here: Miro Education Plan
I need collaborative access to a whiteboard for each individual student. In other words, I need 10 students to have collaborative access to 10 separate whiteboards, one student per board.
To organize the boards by student, you could create a Space for each student, e.g., by their name.
Then, set the board’s Share settings to “Anyone with the link” to Editor and send them the link.

To experience this for yourself, I will send you a board link using the above settings – I’ll private message it to you → https://community.miro.com/inbox/overview
