I had the SAME issue and I tested it and it seems when there’s an unauthorized character it won’t give you an error it just won’t save the new title properly. In my case i was trying to name it “Dashboard 2.0” but the “.” caused an error. When I named it Dashboard 2 it worked.
Subject: Urgent: Cannot Open My Board
Hello Miro Support Team,
I am experiencing a problem with one of my boards. It has been 5 hours, and I still cannot open it. When I try, it shows “Connections restored” but nothing loads.
I already tried:
Could you please help me resolve this issue as soon as possible?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Best regards,
Angelina
@ProfAshleyD while I haven't experienced this myself, I am aware of at least one other person who has.
Are you on the Education Plan?
Yes, I’m a teacher on the Education Plan.
@ProfAshleyD Since you are on the Education Plan and therefore do not have access to the support form and there is a bug, I will convert your post into a support ticket.
Same issue - I’m also on the Education Plan.
@Eugene Seungho Park Ticket opened!
Could both you and @ProfAshleyD please reply to the tickets confirmation and include:
- how you are accessing Miro - OS and version, and client (which browser or app - desktop, tablet, or mobile).
I've got a problem I've never had before.
I have tried to change the name of multiple Miro boards, and they just keep defaulting back to 'untitled' or whatever they were before. My one tool, for example, the website version of Miro, will show the update. But if I look at it in my Miro app or if I just use another browser, the change hasn't taken.
Do you have a solution?
I’m trying to rename my boards but they keep saying untitled. I wait until it’s saved, I edit the title while I’m in the whiteboard, I have edited from my dashboard by clicking on the dots for the board. Nothing has worked. The second I reload the page or try to open a new one, it goes back to Untitled. The site keeps saying “saved” after I change each one too.
Has anyone else experienced a board that won’t hold its name change? I teach using boards, and very often make duplicates of my “preparation” boards, make changes to the board, and rename the duplicated board with a name relevant to my class (e.g. “315 Prep” gets duplicated with the duplicate board renamed to “315-001 F2025”). Never before have I had the issue of the name change for the duplicated board not stick (i.e. keeps reverting to “Copy of...”). I have tried moving the duplicated board to a new space, naming the board once the board was open, naming the board by right-clicking and using the menu “rename” … nothing works.
Moderator note to all: I have been merging new posts in with this existing one.

Possible Workarounds
While this may not always work, some users are reporting that having a period “.” or hypen "-" in the board title is triggering an error, so try removing characters. But you still may be better off waiting for a fix rather than trying to rename over and over.
You could also try changing the board thumbnail to identify the board content.
You could also create a Space for each board to identify the content.
Btw, even titles with alphanumeric characters (letter and numbers only) don’t hold. I even tried only letters, only numbers, removing spaces … there is no work-around, so it seems.

Thanks, @Roger Wheeler. I tweaked my earlier reply re a workaround.
Hello everyone. I've recently discovered that whenever I rename a board on the dashboard, or even in the board tab itself, it goes back to "untitled" once refreshed. Here are the solutions I have already tried:
- waited for the "saved" pop-up after every attempt to rename the board
- on the dashboard, changed the icon of the board alongside the name. After refreshing the page, the icon change works perfectly, but the board is still "untitled"
- tried different browsers: chrome, edge, samsung internet
- tried creating a new board and renaming it immediately. Still goes back to "untitled" after refreshing the tab
Thank you for your help in advance!

Hey All:
While I haven’t officially heard of a fix being released, I am currently able to rename boards again.
Anyone else?
