Hi @Steve3BST,

Could you confirm the role of the user who is unable to edit the planning roadmap? Are they a member of your team or a guest user? Is the issue only happening with this specific roadmap, or are there other sections of the board the user can't edit as well? Have there been any recent changes to board settings or permissions that could have affected the user's access? This could help us narrow down the issue.

Let me know, and I'll be happy to assist further!

Hi, they are guest in the team. It happend only on that specific type of table. I tried to create a new board in an other team and add each user, with all editing access but still have the same issue. And some times, they can modify that table and then, they loose that possibility after few hours.

I can confirm this exact behaviour on my own boards and instances of this template. Just like described, collaborators can edit the content of the planning roadmap sometimes but seemingly randomly lose the ability to do so without any changes to the board, roles or access rights.

Hi @Steve3BST  and @matthias.rottlaender  — thank you both for flagging this!

Miro’s Data Tables feature recently moved out of beta and is now generally available. With this transition, Miro refined permissions for certain advanced widgets like Data Tables and Timelines. At the moment, guests and visitors have view-only access to these widgets — even if they have full editing access on the rest of the board.

If you or your collaborators need to edit Data Tables or create new ones, they’ll need to be added as full team members, rather than guests. This ensures that only team members have editing rights for more complex or data-sensitive features.

That said, the team is aware of some inconsistencies, especially with tables created during the beta period. The product team is investigating this behavior to make things more consistent going forward.

Thanks again for surfacing this — I know changes like this can be a bit unexpected, and we really appreciate your patience while things settle in!

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions I can help with 😊

Hi Eca,

Thanks for letting us know!

If you or your collaborators need to edit Data Tables or create new ones, they’ll need to be added as full team members, rather than guests

Unfortunately, adding all collaborators to the team doesn’t feel like a viable solution for me. We’re a team that provides services around managing projects with and for diverse sets of other stakeholders and project team members. This gives rise to the need to regulate access on a “per board”-basis, as each board is used for a specific project with a unique, temporary project team. So we want to collaborate on these tools based on the board access rights, not the team access rights.

I understand if our use case is the odd one out, but I thought I’d let you know anyways. :)

Hi @matthias.rottlaender — thank you for sharing your perspective, and I understand where you’re coming from.

You're not alone in this — we’ve seen similar feedback from other users who rely on guest-based collaboration and need board-level access control rather than full team membership. It’s especially relevant for those working across many short-term or client-based projects, like in your case.

I’ve passed this feedback along to the product team so they’re aware of how this change impacts real-world workflows like yours. I know the current setup may feel limiting, especially if editing Data Tables was working previously during the beta.

If it helps, one workaround some teams have tried is duplicating the table’s structure using standard shapes/text or using a separate board to collect input and then integrating that manually into the Data Table — not ideal, but a temporary option while the product team explores long-term improvements.

Please feel free to keep sharing your thoughts! Thanks again for the thoughtful reply 🙏
