Pen behaving laggy and wierd in presentation mode

I am facing this issue  after updating the app yesterday Dec 3 2025.  When i try to write fast in presentation mode and try to create shapes ( like writing a number and a small circle around it)  the shapes comes out to be distorted. There seems to be some lag in pen response. Its happening both on browser and in the app.  

It works fine in editing mode but presentation mode is acting wierd.

 

Update: I deleted all the existing content in the board and now it seems fine. Will try again with a board that has some content already written.

Thanks for reporting this!

What you’re describing (pen lag + distorted shapes + only in Presentation Mode + started after the Dec 3 update) suggests this may be a rendering/performance issue triggered by certain board states.

 

To help narrow it down, could you share a bit more?

  1. Device + OS (Windows, macOS, tablet, etc.)

  2. App version (from Miro → Help → About)

  3. Browser version, if you tested in the browser

  4. Whether the issue appears only on boards with heavy content or also on simple boards

  5. If possible, a short screen recording showing the distortion/lag

Since deleting content temporarily solved it, the issue might be related to:

  • board complexity,

  • cached rendering layers,

  • or the updated presentation engine.

Once we have more details, we can determine whether this should be escalated to Miro Support for further investigation.

I have been writing on boards with a lot of content but never seen this issue earlier. I am facing it only after a recent update. Please check out the video below. Its a board with some content ( not a lot). You can see the pen being laggy in present mode. When i deleted all the content, then everything was fine. 
 

 

 

 

  1. Device + OS (Windows, macOS, tablet, etc.) - macOS

  2. App version (from Miro → Help → About) -  0.11.124 arm 64

  3. Browser version, if you tested in the browser - Google Chrom Version 142.0.7444.176 (Official Build) (arm64)

  4. Whether the issue appears only on boards with heavy content or also on simple boards - Boards with some content ( even like a page of handwritten content ) 

  5. If possible, a short screen recording showing the distortion/lag - Link attached above
