Novice Q: How does Miro work with/interact with platforms like Zoom?

I am very new to Miro and my Q. is this: I am planning on running a virtual workshop using either Zoom or Skype (undecided at this time)-and I am looking for a “whiteboard” feature that will allow me to draw or type notes so that my virtual workshop participants can see these notes. Does Miro work with Zoom/Skype, and if so, how?

I appreciate any guidance on this….many thanks:)

@Marla - Since it's 5:28 am for me, rather than saying what has been said before (with many small-screen induced typos in the process),  I will direct you to this search result:

Update: I see you had already commented on at least one of the articles, so kudos for searching the forum! I will leave the above link for any other readers of this post.

@Marla - Miro doesn't currently have any special/offical integration with any video conferencing software.

I would say that should use whichever video conferencing software will work best for you and your participants - the only requirement being that the software must support screen sharing, so you can show your Miro board via your screen.

While everyone can see what everyone else is doing while they are all on the Miro board together, you should always be prepared to take over, e.g., some participants are having issues using Miro.

Thanks very much Robert. I’m in the very early stages of preparing my workshop material; if I have any follow-up Q’s, would you mind if I came back to you here?

@Marla - Absolutely do come back here anytime :) I’m also curious as other’s thoughts on this topic.

There has also been some chatter on the forum for many months now about the previous announced Mrio + Zoom integration, but it has been about ten months and nothing…

Thanks a million Robert-much appreciated:).

@Marla - I should correct myself in that there does appear to be at least one official Miro + video-capable conferencing solution - it is called Remo. However, Remo is focused on hosting large “conference style” gatherings and costs around $100+ per month. Still, I wanted to point this out.

Here’s the official launch announcement from about a month ago:

@Marla :

A lot of the miro official YouTube-Channel Videos are held in Zoom.

Look at their YouTube Channel and see yourself.

One of the seminars I remember was this one:

She showed how both can implemented and working with a smooth charm together … it felt like never left one of the worlds … so … although zoom is not integrated in miro … it works.

Have fun and a good time by watching the video.

Thanks a million for this Michael:). I’m a real novice when it comes to running my own workshop on-line (I’ve attended on-line webinars) and I’ve also had one on one Zoom meetings, but I’ve never been the online “group leader/trainer” & the technical side of it all, is filling me with enormous angst. I’m also a prolific whiteboard/flipchart user in the real life classroom/training room) but to bring all of this to the online world is causing me great angst:). I’ll be prioritising the video you linked to, over the coming days. Thanks!

Thanks for this Robert-that’s a little more than I was hoping to spend per month given my group will only consist of 6-8 attendees, but I’m sure your reply will be of great help to others:). Thanks again for all of your help thus far.).

Quick question: is it possible to Import a Word doc into Miro such that when I screenshare with my workshop participants-I can show them/refer them to my Word doc (a page in a Word doc)?  :shrug:

@Marla :

Yes, you can do it via drag & drop in your board.

And this document can be watched just the same like you’ve got it with PDF-files.

Just adding to what has already been said.

Miro & whereby work excellent for sharing a Miro-Board with a handful of participants. It works well, as you don't necessarily have to have a second screen as a facilitator to be well prepared. As Miro is integrated into the whereby-interface.

Check it out here: https://miro.com/marketplace/whereby/

Thanks very much Michael and Vincent:). I’m soooo nervous about all of this. I may be back over the coming weeks with more Q’s as I get closer to launching my workshop:). Thanks a million for all of your input thus far. :thumbsup:
