Moving Miro board from private (free) team to shared team

Hello,

under one email I’m a participant in two MIRO teams. One is my private, free team. One is team with some paid plan which I was added into. Both teams I see in my sidebar:

Unfortunately, I have created some boards on my private team and now I want to move them to the second team. Is there any way to do it? I cannot see “Move” command for my boards. I also cannot sxport backup version of them (because this is a free plan). I would rather not ask somebody to move the boards or change it ownership. Do you know maybe how to do it?

@Iwona D - If you are the owner of the boards in your team and do still not have the Move to team action when right-clicking on your boards in your Free Plan team dashboard, then you are only a Guest of the other team that you are showing in your screenshot and cannot be the owner of a board in that team.

@Iwona D - You will know if you are a Guest on the other team if you select the dashboard and see the following:

Oh so it’s not the case. I can create a board in second (paid) team. I just cannot move my own boards there.

@Iwona D Are you completely sure you created the boards on the Free Plan team with the same account you’re using in the team on a Paid Plan? The reason I’m asking is because it can get a bit confusing if you (like me) use multiple accounts in the same team, and not having the Move to team option usually means you’re not the board owner. 🙂

One thing you can try to be completely sure about it is to duplicate the board you want to move. By doing this, you automatically become the board owner. So, to summarize:

  1. Duplicate the board you want to move.
  2. Right-click on the duplicated board. If the Move to team option appears, move it to the other team.

Henrik you were completely right! That was the reason for this mess :). Thanks! Finally I managed to move the board and everything looks fine! :)

@Iwona D - Another indicator that you are not the owner is the absence of a Delete option in your screenshot above.

@Iwona D Glad to hear it worked out for you! Would be nice with some kind of indicator that clearly shows you're the owner of a board in the list. I might create a Wish List idea for it! 😊

@Iwona D - I would suggest switching your dashboard’s view to list view:
