mermaid doesn't show

Hi,

I've used mermaid before and made some charts. Now I want to edit some of these charts but I cannot add mermaid back to my toolbar. It seems to be added (when I hit run in marketplace for mermaid it siad app added), but I cannot find it anywhere. Not in the lists, not when I search for it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Marco

Hi @MarcoB and @Victor Leibovici,

Thanks for reaching out!

Have you allowed the permissions for Mermaid Diagrams?

Once you click allow, the app should appear in the sidebar.

You can pin this app as well to avoid doing the same process and for easier access.

I’ve done this several time… Without any result. The mermaid “plugin” is never to be shown afterwards.

Hi @Victor Leibovici,

Thanks for following up! Since the Mermaid app still isn’t appearing after granting permissions, could you try the following troubleshooting steps?

  • Have you checked Team Settings > Apps to see if Mermaid is installed there?
  • Does the issue happen on all boards, or just some? Have you tried a different browser or device?
  • If you haven’t already, try clearing your browser cache or opening Miro in an incognito/private window.

If none of these steps work, would you be able to share a short screen recording showing what happens when you try to install or open the Mermaid app? That could help identify the issue more precisely.

Looking forward to your response! 😊

Okay weird… Now it’s working both on Chrome, my default browser, and safari. Anyway thanks

Hi @Victor Leibovici.

Glad to hear it's working now! Thanks for updating us—this helps others who might run into the same issue. 😊

Hi @MarcoB,

Thanks for checking the permissions! Since the app still isn’t visible, let’s try a few more steps:

  • Ensure the Mermaid app is enabled for your team under Team Settings > Apps.
  • Try refreshing Miro or logging out and back in.
  • Test in an incognito/private browser window to rule out caching issues.
  • If possible, try accessing the board from a different device or browser.

If the issue persists, I’d recommend reaching out to Miro Support with details about your browser, device, and any error messages.

Let us know if any of these steps help! 😊

Hi @MarcoB,

Glad to hear that incognito mode worked! That suggests the issue might be related to caching, cookies, or browser extensions. Here are a few things you can try to get it working in your normal browser:

  1. Clear cache and cookies – Try clearing your browser’s cache for Miro (you can do this in your browser settings).

  2. Disable extensions – Some extensions (like ad blockers or privacy blockers) can interfere with apps. Try disabling them temporarily and see if that helps.

  3. Allow third-party cookies – Some Miro apps rely on third-party cookies. Check your browser settings to ensure they’re allowed.

  4. Update your browser – Make sure you're running the latest version of your browser.

  5. Reset site permissions – In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Site settings, find Miro, and reset any blocked permissions.

Give these a try and let me know if it helps! 😊
