Lost Access to own Table

Hi,

after the holidays I lost access to a table I created in my own board. The table is greyed out and there is a text saying “You do not have permission to view this data”. This does not make sense to me, as I am the board owner, created the table myself in this very Miro-Board.

When I click on “Request Access” no Email is sent to my Mail-Account.

Is there a way to recover access to the Table?

Hi @cmiro and @JSchult,

Thanks for reaching out!

The synced View/Request Access error message means that the original Table is in another board that was not shared with you or you do not have access to.

As for the error message appeared on your end, @MichielM, The best way to reproduce the issue you're reporting would be by getting access to the board. Kindly reach out to support team and please share the problematic board with support@help.miro.com as a Guest with Editor rights by following this guide - Invite guests.

Hope this helps!

Same problem here. My board, my table, no access, no action taken when trying to use the “Request access” link.

Although not the exact problem mentioned above, but i got this after coming back from holidays. It worked 2 weeks ago:

Could be related...seems it has something to do with licenses and related permissions (i’am on an enterprise plan)

Hi

I have a similar problem. I have one board with one table. I can still edit my table, but the guests, that could previously edit the table as well, cannot do it anymore. The table is not synchronised with another board and the rights haven’t been changed. Why is it not working anymore?

Thanks!

Clara

I have the exactly same issue as guest and in our company tenant our guests can not work on the tables anymore… if it is the plan to leave it like this I have to convert all these topics into another element and the main value of the tables have gone… A lot of work to do and even a step back in collaboration work.

Hi @eclara @Anna-Lena Müller,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details of the issue you’re experiencing. This does sound like something that might need further investigation to get to the bottom of the issue, so I’ll be converting this into a support ticket for a more in-depth look.

in the meantime I got the feedback via ticket. one points concerns me a lot:

We've now officially launched Data Tables as a generally available (GA) feature. As part of this transition, we've refined the access permissions for such complex widgets/formats, as Timeline and Data Tables. Currently, guests and visitors have view-only access to Tables. This means that guests can still see the content inside the Table but can not make any edits.

However, if some users need to edit existing tables or create new ones, they should be invited as members. This ensures that those actively contributing to the data can make the necessary changes.

We understand this might be a change from the Beta experience, and we appreciate your understanding as we continue to improve our platform.

I think I can understand your point from a business making point of view. But…

We as a consulting company have chosen miro for mainly one reason: Collaborating with our customers as guests on projects. In case some of the features are blocked for guests to work on we have use workarounds in other tools that breaches the main advantage of miro: all information on one board. This is also a switch in working with miro and we have to expect more restrictions in the future on other widgets. Your customers created over half a million BETA tables. This shows how important this feature is. I expect our tables will switch back to become Excel sheets… The “paywall” and also the administrative aspects (adding and removing members constantly) are the reasons on our side. I expect also I’m not the only one with this point of view (@eclara ?)

To be honest, I’m very disappointed!

Hi @Anna-Lena Müller, thanks for sharing the answer of Miro. In my case, I am not using Miro and Tables as extensively as you. I only had one board with one table that I shared with a few persons that are inside my organisation (however without paid accounts but with Sharepoint), so it doesn’t affect me that much. But in this case I will also have to switch back to Excel. That’s too bad, because this table function in Miro could be really useful. I am used to use such Tables in Airtable and I was very happy to see something similar in Miro.
