How to stop Miro from adding a text block to a document while dragging it?
Hi
It sounds like you're accidentally creating a text box when dragging your mouse on the board. This usually happens if you click and drag on an empty space—Miro assumes you're trying to create a text object.
To avoid this:
Make sure you're using the Select tool (arrow icon) from the toolbar, not the Text tool.
If you're just trying to move the board or navigate, try holding the spacebar to switch to the hand tool temporarily (for panning).
If my understanding of your issue is incorrect, would you mind sharing a short video showing what’s happening on your end? That way I can give more specific help.
Let me know—happy to assist!
Hey Eca,
Thank you for your reply. I used the arrow tool. My goal is to put text on top of a document, similar to the sticky note in the first picture. However, when I move it after the initial placement, it automatically sets into the text. For now, I'm scaling it in the text document, but it would be nice to have an option for this.
