How to have the nodes for the mindmap on all 4 sides not just two

Unfortunately not - the native mind map object just allows child nodes to be created on either side but not on all four sides. A workaround is to use the blue dot on the other two sides to link to a plain rectangle shape, but of course that won’t make those “adopted” objects be part of the mind map.

You can achieve this by making multiple mind-maps, changing the text size of the sub-maps and then connecting them with normal lines
