How can I add additional points to a line (using the simple timeline template)

I am using the simple timeline template which has a straight line with points, and sticky notes. The template includes 3 points on the line, and I want to:

  • add more points
  • move the points to allow for different spacing between them

I have searched various posts and help articles and can’t find out how to make these simple changes. Any advice much appreciated!

Or, if you don’t text but want a circle, make a dot with a circle shape (tip: hold the Shift key while resizing the circle to keep its symmetry):

To move the dots with text, click and drag the text:

And a bonus tip: If you want the line to by perfectly horizontal/vertical/etc., hold the Shift key while dragging the line:

Thanks so much @Robert Johnson! I have it working now. Had tried dragging text before and couldn’t get it to move, maybe I just needed to practice the right touch :)
