Enable & Disable Table Columns

Currently, there is a bug with the table feature.
When I build a table from left to right, for example in this order:

Initial order
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

…and I use the filter option (the “eye” icon) to hide a column, the column correctly disappears. However, in the filter dropdown, this column is incorrectly moved down into the “Disabled” section. Thats wrong. It should remain in its original position.

When I re-enable the hidden column, it is added back to the far right of the table, instead of being restored to its original position before it was hidden.

Example result:
1, 5, 6, 7, 2, 3, 4

When will this bug be fixed?
The problem is that it creates additional work because I have to manually move the columns back to their original position each time, which makes no sense at all.

Was it helpful?

Hi @Dan2023  — thank you so much for the clear explanation and example. I’ve gone ahead and tried it on my end and was able to reproduced. That sounds frustrating, especially when you're trying to maintain a consistent table structure.

I’ve gone ahead and shared your detailed feedback with the internal team. While I can’t share an exact timeline for a fix just yet, I’ll be sure to update this thread as soon as we hear more from the team.

Appreciate you taking the time to surface this!

Hi @Dan2023,

Thanks again for surfacing this! I shared your report with the team, and they’ve created a task to investigate how column order can be better preserved when hiding or re-enabling fields in tables. It’s now on their radar, and they’ll be looking into ways to improve this experience.

I’ll keep this thread updated as I hear more on the progress. Really appreciate your patience and detailed feedback — it helps a lot!
