I have one person in the group I work with who can't connect to the public link. Everyone else can, except her. When she tries to connect to the public link, Miro asks her a lot of questions. Once she's answered them, she's told she has to buy a package. It's really very problematic. I've been working with Miro for over 5 years, with hundreds of people using the public link, and this is the first time this has happened to me. Please help me find a solution.

Hi @Marie-Andrée Roy,

Thanks for reporting this you're right, this shouldn’t be happening when using a public board link set to allow visitor access.

To help us get to the root of the issue, could you please confirm the following:

  1. What access settings are enabled for the board? (e.g., "Anyone with the link can view/comment/edit")

  2. Is the user trying to access the link on a mobile device or desktop?

  3. Has she tried accessing it in an incognito/private browser window?

  4. Does the link prompt her to sign in before answering the questions, or does this happen right away?

It sounds like the link might be defaulting to a "team invite" instead of visitor access, or the user may be signed into another Miro account that's triggering a different flow.

Hi!

Thanks for that information!

I'll answer your questions below.

  1. Yes, the access that confirms that anyone with the link can access it. Here's my screenshot.

For the other questions (2, 3, 4), my client has answered them below.

ello,

I am the one who is having issues accessing the link provided by Marie-Andrée Roy. Basically, this is the screen I get when clicking on the link she sends me.

I am accessing it via Google Chrome on a desktop.

All the other participants don't seem to have this issue. While on a Team's meeting, she sent me the link in a chat and it worked. However, as soon as she sends me the link via email, I see the screenshot above.

Hi @Marie-Andrée Roy, and thank you for the added context — this is super helpful!

It sounds like the issue might be tied to how the link is being interpreted by the browser or email client, especially since it worked when shared via Teams but not over email. Sometimes email clients can modify or "wrap" links, which can lead to unexpected behavior (like redirecting to sign-up flows).

A few things your participant can try:

  1. Right-click the link in the email and choose “Copy Link” — then paste it directly into the browser instead of clicking it.

  2. Open the link in an incognito window — this can rule out cached sessions or account-related redirects.

  3. Ensure they're logged out of any Miro accounts before clicking the link, to avoid being rerouted into a sign-in flow.

If the issue persists, feel free to privately share the full link with our support team.

Let me know how it goes.
