Boards turning blank in Miro Windows App

Hello,

I have a regular problem when using miro windows app: heavy (a lot of content) boards often go blank when zoomed. Since no refresh is available I need to either close and open this board (tab in the app) or restart the app. It can happen even several times in a few minutes.

Does anyone else has this problem? Any solutions?

I am using Windows 11.

Hi @Piotr Magnuszewski,

Thanks for reporting this issue!

I understand how frustrating it can be when boards go blank, especially with content-heavy ones. Since you've mentioned you're using the Windows desktop app on Windows 11, here are a few things to try:

1️⃣ Check for updates – Make sure you're using the latest version of the Miro app. You can download the latest version here
2️⃣ Clear cache – In the Miro app, go to Settings > Advanced > Clear cache and restart the app.
3️⃣ Test in the browser – Does the issue also happen in Chrome or Edge? If not, it might be specific to the desktop app.
4️⃣ Adjust performance settings – In Settings, try enabling/disabling "Hardware acceleration" to see if it helps.
5️⃣ Try a different zoom method – If you use a trackpad/mouse, try zooming with the toolbar or keyboard shortcuts instead (Ctrl + +/-).

If the issue persists, I recommend submitting a support ticket with details about your app version, system specs, and a screen recording if possible.

Let us know if any of these steps help!

[UPDATE]

(1) I meant Windows desktop app.

(2) Ctrl-R for refresh doesn’t work when the the board turns blank

@Piotr Magnuszewski - Two questions:

1. Is the board initially loaded and you're working on it, but then it/the canvas suddenly goes blank, including any chosen background colour and grid lines or dots (if enabled), BUT the toolbars remain?

2. Do you have any GIFs on the board where the issue occurs?

I ask these specific details as I had this happen to me 3-4 months ago.

Oh, I have the same!
Only on the windows app, it is ok when I work in browser.
It repeats from time to time, I didn’t notice a pattern so far. But usually on retro, when I’m also sharing the screen - and all goes blank in miro ( on the screenshot the third board was active, and nothing is shown)  .. might happen up to 10 times per day
You can switch to another tab \ board and back and it will reupload.

Hi @Vika Titovchenko,

Thank you for jumping in and sharing those extra details — super helpful!

Have you tried resetting the app data? If yes, and the issue still persists,

If this keeps happening, I’d recommend sharing your experience with the Miro Support team as well.

Let me know how it goes — always here to help 😊
