New Bugs found i guess:

We have a complex Template, with many Layers, Sticky Notes, Images and Shapes….

Recently i find more and more behaviour that i can only explain as being a bug.

The most recent:
When i look at the template origin (via “Edit” in the Templates Menu), therefore the template from which instances of that template are generated, then everything is “fine”.

But when i create a template from this source (via “Explore Templates” and then “Use Template”) then this happens:

The sticky notes from the cluster, dissappear from their clusters and appear suddenly randomly, but reproducable on the “Introduce Participants” canvas, as well as the “Collect and priorityse critical assumptions” canvas:

What does this mean “randomly but reproducable”? Well, it happens now every time i create a new board from the template, and it has no apparent reason. Why do those sticky notes move over there? Why those sticky notes? Why they look so well structured and in line?

Additionally, at the end of the template, one of the canvas contents, image including the widgets and shapes placed there, are completly gone missing:

This is how it looks when the board is created from the template.
This is how it looks in the template itself (the source) and also how it should look.

Please also look at my other questions, as there are apparently more bugs.

One Bug has already been resolved from the Miro Team.

Thank you and best regards, Benjamin

Hi @DataDriverOlav,

Thanks for flagging this and giving such a detailed rundown!

The sticky notes jumping to random (but consistent) places and some parts of the template disappearing when you create a new board definitely sound like bugs. That’s not how templates are supposed to behave, so let’s try to dig into it:

  1. Sticky Notes Moving: Weird that they’re showing up on specific canvases like "Introduce Participants" and "Collect and Prioritize Critical Assumptions." Since it happens every time, there might be something odd with how the template is being applied.

  2. Missing Content: Losing widgets, shapes, and images at the end of the template is a big one—thanks for pointing that out.

You can try in the meantime:

  • Check Browser/App: If you’re using a browser, make sure it’s up-to-date and clear your cache. Or try switching to the desktop app and see if it still happens.

I’ll escalate this to the Miro support team so they can investigate further. If you haven’t already, sharing a quick screen recording or screenshots of the issue would be super helpful! Please check your inbox for the ticket thread and feel free to share more details with them in there.

Thanks again for your patience! 😊
