Missing Sticky Notes tool in the toolbar

Last week, while facilitating a learning session in Miro, a participant flagged to me about "Sticky Notes gone missing." I wasn't sure what to belief. But it did indeed happen. See screenshot. "Missing Sticky Notes tool"Has anybody else experienced this before? If so, what was the "remedy"?

"Miro is the new website"

I’m very sure many of us in this community are business owners or work for organisations with a website presence. I too have one that I built and manage for my consultancy.However, based on my experience (and I assume for my potential clients too), trying to get a good overview of a business or an organisation can be a little painful: lots of clicking around and lots of nested information while trying to piece together a coherent big picture. Often times we also resort to sending “one sheet profile PDF” of our business (or CV/resume for job candidates) to whomever may be interested. However, anything longer than 2-3 pages can be a negative for a prospect or a hiring person.What if there’s a way to present all this information on ONE interactive page? How my Miro use for facilitation has evolved in 1 year!

As a facilitator (both process & training facilitation), my choice of using Miro one year ago was driven by a single: a collaborative platform where ALL participants can engage and interact. The more active, the better!So, it’s really important to onboard new (and returning) participants onto Miro. Do it well and the experience will be tremendous. I take pride for meticulous onboarding regardless for a group 2 or 200.Here’s how my Miro onboarding has evolved over the last year!June 2020 - I started using Miro in April 2020 and this was one of the first paid client events done virtual. Basic look and at that point, anybody can unlock anything on a Miro board. It was dangerous times, but we love it! Current 2021 - This is how my Miro onboarding segment currently looks like. Any recurring challenges that participants continuously came across in my previous sessions are addressed in this view. The number of Miro tools that I demo are also context dependent. 3D places and spaces in Miro

I’ve been inspired by the work of Team @Hued and some other designers/users on Miro where the Miro space is made 3 dimensional. So I have decided to try this for myself. Man, it takes a bit work! A-Miro-Zing Race II - Bigger, Better, Bolder!

'The Virtual Middle Place'

A very insightful study by PwC on #remotework trends. Zooming on the 'physical office' conundrum, it seems like employers and employees have different expectations on what the physical workplace should deliver.In my mind, I can see a promising middle ground that is the hybrid model. Simply because none of those factors quoted by both employers and employees are impossible to achieve while working remotely.What I'm proposing (in fact, a couple of my clients are running away with this idea!) is the concept of 'Virtual Middle Place' (somebody has a snazzier moniker?) It is a hybrid workplace enabled by collaborative and interactive platforms such as Miro, Mural and Stormboard.It is a middle place for an organisation where some people will choose to work from home, some in the office, and most will switch their environments once in a while. A very fluid working environment, yet always connected.Using #virtualmiddleplace, facilitative leadership theories and techniques, I believe I can help

Building and running a Miro board for a live online training workshop

I have spent a lot of time lately translating my in-person training workshop content into a collaborative live online training environment. I've read and seen plenty of best practices from other sharers (thank you!) and created the boards as you can see below. I also managed to deliver a session of this 2-hour live online training workshop with business partners in another country this week. Here are my learnings from that opportunity: Less is seriously more! Miro is such fun to use and I actually built lots of engagements and activities for this session. I probably ended up using 50% of what I built. In an online environment, it takes probably 50% more time to complete activities and discussions than offline. The good thing is I can easily see what's next on my board and skip content/discussion as necessary. Give plenty of ramp up time! The participants love the experience of using Miro, the interactivity and the engagement throughout the workshop. To get to this stage, however, means

COVID-19-ready In-person Workshops using Miro

Cooler than cool! In reality, sticky notes and flip charts can possibly be transmission tools! As facilitators and trainers, what can you do to be prepared for COVID-19 prevention once you head back to classrooms? Use a Miro board in the classroom and keep the conversations inclusive and opinions diverse. The image above explains itself. This is an Agile Marketing training workshop conducted by 2 of my close partners based in Holland. While this may be de rigueur way of working for some of you, I personally never thought of this even though I had trained my partners on using Miro for online facilitation! What's missing is perhaps (and for bigger classes) individual screens for each group that can become "group flip charts". It will be interesting to see how this can be configured in a classroom to accommodate Miro screens. Attention Management feature

Is no one talking about the Attention Management feature yet? This is so very welcomed and a major feature!  Every session for a new group of training or workshop participants, it usually takes a while for participants to learn the "Watch my screen" instruction when I start screen sharing. Sometimes, participants didn't even see the blue 'Join' button (tip: Refresh browser/app if this happens) This Attention Management feature just shortened this entire process! Thank you, @Marina and team, more love and power to Miro :)
