Out of necessity, my team has created a very basic Miro orientation board that covers the basics for new users @McNisky. It contains a basic overview of Miro, some basic tips to get started, a space to try things out, and then a focused ice breaker activity. We prefer to take folks through this myself so I can answer questions on the fly, but if folks want to go through it independently, we have provided visual instructions and video demonstrations wherever possible. Here it is if anyone wants to take a peek, set in our very approachable coffee shop theme :) @Jonathan White that’s so fancy I haven’t seen what your team created yet --- THIS IS AMAAAAZING!!! WOW! Definitelyyy going to use, this – Such a great primer and looks fun Y’all have inspired me to submit this orientation as a Miroverse submission!
I found myself very much enjoying the experience academy.miro.com offered to take courses and sign up for webinars. Is this a function that is offered through Miro? To create courses, host webinars, etc. that could be a substitute for using something like Thinkific or Udemy? Cheers, Tym Hi @Tymothy Roy ! There are ways that some of my clients have used Miro as a course within a board, creating a dash board frame with linking items to a curriculum - and playing with the wayfinding on the board. You could also create a presentation which has smart links. However, in the true sense like you’re talking about there’s no real out of the box feature for this, but I’ve seen it used in this way by designing it. This wouldn’t really be a replacement for Thinkific though, it’s not designed in that way. @Jonathan White may have done this also for some of his clients and can chime in! @Tymothy Roy and @Rachel Course content can be really brought to life in Miro, as you can not on
Love this template – thanks for sharing, @Jonathan White! This is a great use case for invisible frames or layers where the frames could be stored and then hidden. Why? So I could use the Frames panel to navigate the board, but we don’t have to see the frames. Yep, totally agree @Robert Johnson. Instead, we use invisible shapes behind everything to drive the wayfinding links. Using a ton of frames on this experience really brought the look and feel down a level, so we ditched them in favour of this design!
Great job @Jonathan White on this! How long do you find it takes a small group to go through the overall set of steps? Kiron Great question @Kiron Bondale. I would typically set aside 20 mins for this experience, maybe 30 mins if you have more than 7 people, as you can anticipate a few technical issues and questions from the crowd. With the video demonstrations in there, I would even feel comfortable sending this board to clients ahead of time for some asynchronous self learning. Maybe record a loom video of your own to introduce the experience and then see how they do!
Hi @mazylis! Yes, @Robert Johnson is very kind to point out that my company Hiro Studio builds and (if required) facilitates Miro experiences, to support summits, conferences, meetings, and process/workflow.Check us out (https://hirostudio.co/) and if you think it is a good fit, drop me a line at jon@hirostudio.co.Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your plans to create a Miro board around your company structure :)Thanks! Jon
First off, loving this addition to Miro. I can think of all kinds of interesting use cases for the idea generator, and summarizing sticky notes. This piece of feedback is on the image generator. As a test, I asked for a map of North America, and this was the result:North America?Missing a few key countries like Canada and Mexico. So, I refined the search to a Map of North America with Canada and Mexico, and this was the result. I give you, Nortih Anmerdiica The west coast has a few new land masses, and I have no idea what the island cluster is, though I would like to visit Zaplada, Cancia, Canjada, Canmada, and Canaaa. Interesting results. A google image search did a much better job here, but definitely not as funny. Will keep trying things out and report back findings :)
This is simply incredible @Lucie A! I still get giddy seeing @Said Saddouk’s art and Hiro’s Onboarding experience build on the staircase :)This is a showstopper...end of story! Sets a new bar for sure!
Love, love, love this!!! Will make creating presentations and exporting docs so much easier!!!!
An oldie but a goodie @Robert Johnson. One additional tip is to play with the size of the box you will use for the link. At different levels of zoom, the blue link arrows can get smaller or disappear altogether. Make sure to zoom out on your board to ensure your boxes are sized to make your link as visible as you need it to be.
