Designing Ethical AI with Strategic Foresight - Workshop

In this workshop series, we will use EthicalOS, a toolkit designed by The Institute for the Future (IFTF), and Omidyar Network to support technology designers and developers in identifying potential risks and worst-case scenarios that could derive from their innovations. The purpose is to immerse ourselves into a group of signals, checklist questions, and management strategies to anticipate and counteract potential ethical risks before deploying technology.

This tool was designed by IFTF’s Jane McGonigal, an expert in collaborative foresight and human interaction, and Samuel Woolley, director of IFTF’s Digital Intelligence Lab. Almost 20 tech companies, schools, and start-ups tested the tool, including Mozilla, Techstars, and others.

Join me in this workshop to identify potential risks from the development of an IoT-powered smart supermarket that uses AI to leverage users' shopping patterns and generate recommendations to enhance the customer experience.
