I will do a workshop in a few weeks and before I will share a practise board with a few tasks to learn the tools. When someone does Miro’s practise boards you get a new board you can play around with. I want to do the same thing, I want to share a link to the group and I want everyone to get their own board to play around with. How do I do this?

@Jacob Ode - In short, you would set a board’s Visitor/public access to “Anyone with the link → Can view”, send the link, and have them duplicate the board to their own account.

I put together this post to outline these steps, along with articles to relevant help center artciles:

Another option is to use the copyBoardId URL parameter, so that, when they click on your board link, it is automatically duplicated/copied to their team.

It’s worth noting that, the board will duplicate to the last team space they were active in, which may not be the space they are expecting the board to be created/duplicated in.

Demo

If you open this board, you cannot edit it, but you can click on the board title, and then the Duplicate button:

Using copyBoardId

Here’s how it works:

The board link:
https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVK4c-_uU=/

In the above example, the unique board ID is: uXjVK4c-_uU=

To create your auto-copy link, add the board ID to:
https://miro.com/app/?copyBoardId=

So, here is the link you would send to your students:
https://miro.com/app/?copyBoardId=uXjVK4c-_uU=

Test it → https://miro.com/app/?copyBoardId=uXjVK4c-_uU=
