Dear Miro Team,

I use Miro for all my projects.

I recently completed my PhD at the university, where I had been using the email address for my Miro Educational (student) account. I am now employed at another university, and my former email address was deleted, resulting in my Miro account being degraded. My working boards are locked, so I can't even transfer the backup to the new account (the one I am using now to make this post).

I am really scared of losing my data. Can you help me with this please?

my old account is: ilguen@student.tugraz.at

Warm Regards,

Asyimut

Hi @Asyimut,

I understand how important it is to retain your work, and I’d be happy to guide you on this!

If you had set up a password for your Miro account with the deactivated email, you may still be able to log in using your previous credentials even though the email itself is inactive. This would allow you to access the boards and transfer content manually.

If your boards were shared within a team or have collaborators with access, you can ask one of them to remove your old profile connected to the deactivated email address, then add your new profile as a member. They can also transfer ownership of the boards to your new account to maintain access.

If neither option is possible, please note that Miro Support is limited in these cases due to security policies, and may not be able to access or transfer data from a deactivated account.

Let me know if you need further assistance, and best of luck with your transition!
