Locking a line within a shape

Hi there savvy Miro users,

Here’s a question I’m sure many will find basic and unremarkable, but oh well, this is how I choose to spend my Monday night.

I am struggling to draw a shape with a line diving it  and a text in each part (a domino to be precise). Is there a way to lock the line within a shape? Or any other technique to do it in Miro?

Thank you all

Hi!

You can lock the line within the shape. If you select both the shape and the line on your board a small box should appear around them that says “Filter: 2 objects” and next to that you will see an image of an open padlock. If you click the lock then your two objects will become locked together. Let me know if that doesn’t make sense!

@Infrequent Inquirer - And here it is in action:

A few tips about Connection Lines:

  • You can start drawing a line at anytime with the L hotkey
  • Press the Shift key while drawing the line to snap it at 45 degree increments
  • Hold the Ctrl/Cmd key to stop it from snapping to other objects.

Yes, perfect! There’s Group Object icon next to the padlock. Now I can lock them and move around as one item. Thank you so much!!
