That is pretty odd - have you tried with different shapes & objects (e.g. Sticky Notes, Cards) and does the icon not show up for any of those?

Can you try using a different Miro access method (e.g. incognito browser or desktop app) and does it do the same thing?

Is this happening on just one board or all boards?
