I’ve encountered this a few times now - after a board has been open for a while I lose the ability to hold down the left mouse button and use the pointer tool. I can no longer hold down shift and in conjunction with the pointer tool to draw a shape. If I close the board and reopen it works fine… for a about 5 minutes...

is this via web browser access or the desktop app or both? If it is a web browser-based access, have you tried clearing your cache and logging out and back in to Miro?
