Can I move labels to a different position in relation to the object?

Can I move the label associated with the object to a different position to be able to declutter the view?  In the screen below, i’d like to  move the label associated with the diamond object to the left of it to not overlap the lines coming from the right/bottom of the diamond.

Have you tried to simply hold&drag the text? It looks like the text is an independent object thus can just be moved as shown on the GIF. Look forward to hearing from you!

@Lindsey Magee - From your screenshot, the text appears to be an independent object and not “line” text. You could add text to the line, which should place it “over” the line:
