I am doing many interactive workshops with Miro.

And ALWAYS, The one thing everybody has trouble with is:
The participants draw arrows when they actually want to do something else.

The participants click on the sides or corners of sticky notes.
Either they want to select or resize the the sticky note or change the shape (square / rectancular).

And then, a arrow appears out of the sudden and they have trouble removing it again.
Most of the times, they click somewhere and have trouble to re-select the small arrow.
Or the arrow connects to something else which they did not want.
And then they are frustrated.

In my experience, the functionality “connect items per arrows” and “click on the side of a sticky note to create a second, connected note” is only needed in very special cases. Seldom in “normal” workshops.

So I wish for a switch where I can turn off the “create arrow when I click on the sides of an item” functionality. Per-Board-Setting, valid for every participant.
(If you still need connection lines, you still could create them by explicitely clicking on the forms/arrows/lines function in the sidebar).

I would turn this “create arrows when I click at the edge of an item” off by default.

And only when we really want to work with connection lines and arrows, I would turn it back on.

What do you think of this idea?

It seems that I am not the only one with this issue (https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/disabling-connection-lines-868?tid=868&fid=45), so I am creating a wishlist entry.
