@Sophia Chia - During the webinar, I shared a link to this LinkedIn post with a great tip about adding talking points to a Miro board that you will be creating a Talktrack on and then deleting them after the Talktrack recording. Because a Talktrack is not a video recording of a board, but rather a live Miro board were the user will be taken around the board following the same movements as the person who recorded it, the talking notes will no longer be present – suck a great trick!

However, I later realized something that all users should be aware of: The Watch on original board feature of Talktrack.

While deleting any talking points used during the recording may not be a big deal, everyone should be aware that this includes any content that was present on the board at the time of the recording, but was later deleted – even if it was on a part of the board that you did not show in the recording – can later be viewed using the Watch on original board feature.

Example Scenario

You made a Talktrack recording and later realized someone’s personal phone number and address was on the board, but you never showed that part of the board while making your Talktrack, and you deleted the personal information before sending out the Talktrack link, the user would see this message when they start the Talktrack playback:

And if they use the Watch the original version of the feature, they can pan around the board to see anything that was present during the Talktrack recording.

@Sophia Chia - Please consider explicitly mentioning “deleted content” somewhere in the in the Talktrack Help Center article, e.g., maybe the Playback the original version of Talktrack section.

Right now it mentions “moved” or “changed”, but for some, “changed” and “deleted” could have very different meanings.

Thanks for considering this!😊

Hey @Robert Johnson,

Thank you so much for your helpful suggestion!

I definitely think this is something we can make clearer in our help materials as well. I will see to this being updated and clearly explained in the help center article.

Really appreciate the feedback! 🙏😊

Hey, @Sophia Chia! Are you able to confirm when and where the Talktrack app icon location will finally be moved to? People I am trying to introduce the feature to are getting confused when I say, “it’s located in the Apps toolbar, here”:

But they are seeing it in this (collaboration?) toolbar:

Which, after further investigation, I am seeing it in the two different locations in various accounts that I have.

Thanks!

Hey @Robert Johnson, thanks for raising this!

Yes the product team is currently experimenting to find the best place where the entry point should be located. That is why some accounts are seeing it in the collaboration tool bar and some are seeing it in the apps tool bar. This experiment should run about few more weeks.

Hope that clears up the confusion a little. :)

Thanks for the update, @Sophia Chia. As I am using every week now, my vote is front-and-centre in the collaboration tool bar where it is always visible, but I suppose that will have to be negotiated with the on-screen UI real estate gatekeepers 😉

Indeed it will ;) But I will relay your preference to the team!

@Sophia Chia - Feedback on my latest Talktrack is that notifications of new Talktrack recordings on a board that I own could have saved me five days. Details:

https://community.miro.com/ideas/talktrack-notification-when-new-talktrack-recorded-14800

Why do my toolbars disappear when I start recording in Talk Track? I’m trying to demo using a toolbar but can’t if they disappear when I hit record. Any ideas?

Hi @Roberta Burtsal !

Talktrack enables you to capture and review your interactions with the board's content by recording your movements. However, it's important to note that this functionality focuses specifically on the board's content and does not encompass the entire screen. Consequently, actions performed on the tool bar are not recorded, distinguishing it as a dynamic board recording rather than a screen recording.

This distinction means that when others view the recording, they will be following your actions directly on the board, providing an immersive viewing experience that allows them to take action directly in the board while watching the recording.

Hope that helps!

@Sophia Chia Hi!

Maybe this is crazy and not realistic, but while the talktrack thing is great and all (and I use it), what I would reaaaally be in the market for is something that would let me save a replayable talktrack-type thing using Miro Video Chat. That would allow me, to, say, do a in-miro walkthrough with other members of my team, and capture everything about that conversation, including questions they have.

Now, I can do something similar with Loom, say, but really if it was all in Miro, that would be best!

Thanks for listening!

@Peter McLaren - Agreed! Now that I’ve had a taste of Talktrack, I want it to record everything! If I were a betting man, I would say all of our dreams will come true one day through some sort of Miro + Around.co integration.

Thank you for your feedback and description of your use case needs @Peter McLaren and @Robert Johnson !

I also love the idea :) I will pass it on to the team so we have this captured.
