Code blocks usually have a whole lot of searchable text.

It would be very helpful if we could search through the code in code blocks.

In addition, the title of the code block should be searchable too. Considering the following objects appear to have similar title structures, but they are searchable and the Code blocks are not, I am going to open a support ticket to confirm if the title should  be searchable and I update this post with what I learn.

The following objects’ titles are searchable:

  • Frames
  • Cluster frames
  • Tables
  • Kanban
  • User story mapping

Giving this a bump as it’s a shame that such basic functionality of searching text that exists in a core Miro object is not possible with Code block – both in the title or the body.

Here’s the last update I had on my support ticket re this deficiency – it was closed after this update, so I created a new ticket to follow up. I’ll post back here as I learn more:

The response:

Hi Robert,

I appreciate your follow-up about the code blocks.

We've shared the feedback with the responsible team. They responded that they are aware of the issue reported but are currently not prioritising any improvements for the Code widget.

Thank you for again for your continuous feedback!

Dear Miro:

Why no more love for the Code blocks? This widget has lacked an visible continuous improvement (BTW, I basic search of a core, text-basic Miro widget should not be considered an “improvement”.) Is there a replacement in the works?!
