The main toolbar should have a Hand icon that switches to the Hand tool.
Currently new users find it hard to switch to navigation and end up moving items on the board, especially frames. (yes they can be locked).
The tooltip on this new icon could say:
“Hand [h]
Temporary hand [space]”
I guess mouse right click + move = does the trick
Yes, there's right-click + drag (if every guest has it) and spacebar + click + drag (if people can understand and remember that combination). Yes, you can lock items (but the point is for the board to remain interactive). There are several options which can be learned...
But when you have a bunch of workshop guests who have never seen the tool before, and you need them to be comfortable with making sticky notes in the next 2 minutes, “just click the hand” is simply easier to teach. I saw that in Mural, and I’m seeing it in Figjam.
