[RESOLVED] Confluence pages not showing up in Miro.

Maybe i’m doing things wrong, but I can’t get to see confluence pages inside Miro, even by linking the pages directly.

All i’m getting is this ‘please log in’ thing. Is it because i’m using the app?

Hi Brandon,
I'm following up with an update on issue you reported with pasting Confluence links. Our Engineering team confirmed they can replicate the behavior and will investigate further.
As a temporary workaround, could you please try to copy the page URL link from the browser address bar instead of the “Share” link in Confluence and then try to paste the link to a Miro board?
What are the results of pasting the URL link on the board?
Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to help!
Kind regards,

Corina
Miro

Update from Technical Support. It didn’t work for me as the result was the URL showed as Text formatted with a Hyperlink and not a Embedded Confluence Page.

Was it helpful?

This is likely because your Confluence pages are not open to the public. I would contact your Confluence Admin to discuss this.

Hi Yan,

Were you able to figure it out?

Thanks!

Any Confluence Power Users/Admins out there? Can you please confirm if Pages need to be Sharable via Public Link in order for them to be “Connectable” through Miro?

@Brandon Lee - I just did some reading and a test, and the issue could be that your boards are public? (i.e., Anyone with the link is set to anything other than No access)

https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020712594-Miro-for-Confluence#h_01GXTYBCT8JB9W4P3ZBYY206NZ

Test - when I paste with board being public, the Confluence shortcut looks like yours. But after disabling public and refreshing, the Confluence shortcut contains the page title:

I will say, it is kind of finicky, in that there’s a delay between when I make the board public and the board title stops showing up.

Thanks @Robert Johnson  for taking the time to Post. My Board is Private so I am expecting the behavior of seeing the Confluence Page Details (Miro Smart Link) but sadly not. I am going to create a Miro Ticket and see if Support can help.

I should add. I believe I had Connected Confluence in Miro, reason is I saw a confirmation message in the Browser Window. But when I open the App in Miro I see the Blue Connect Button that looks like it is still waiting on me to connect.

Weird thing is when I Click it Miro redirects me to Miro for Confluence – Miro Help Center. This happens all the time now.

Confirmation App is Approved.

But conflicting behavior, URL Error Message but Link Object still Posted on my Miro Board. However, this is still not the Smart Link I am looking for.

@Brandon Lee - Next, I was going to suggest checking the app’s status in your Confluence and Atlassian account. Ugh, after much searching, I found where all of these integrations can be found. I removed all of the apps/authorizations in an attempt to go through a new setup, only now I’m kind of in the same state as you - it’s not working. So, if you could copy-paste what the support team tells you it would be appreciated 🙏

BTW, here are the links I compiled:

Remove Miro's previously granted access to your Atlassian account:
Here: https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/apps (Remove: Miro Content Hub)

From this action:

Remove Miro Content Hub integration:
https://[YOUR-ORG-HERE].atlassian.net/wiki/plugins/servlet/upm?source=side_nav_manage_addons

Reinstall Miro-Atlassian app from Atlassian Marketplace:

Hi Brandon,

Thank you for the update. I understand you prefer not to share a board link or Confluence link you're working with. Thank you for pointing out that other users are replicating the behavior. I was able to replicate the same behavior as well, so I've reached out to our internal team so we can investigate the expected behavior.

As the best next step, I'll place this ticket into an "On-Hold" status. Don't worry, this means that we're working with the team to investigate, replicate, and collaborate internally.

As updates and questions occur, we will circle back to this case. If you have any questions in the meantime, please let me know!

Kind regards,

Corina

Miro

Thanks for the update, Brandon. I was trying to reauthorize Miro in Confluence about five hours ago, but could not. It’s good to know that there is a larger issue, so I won’t submit a support ticket myself.

Hi Brandon,

I wanted to follow up quickly and let you know that we're investigating and testing the expected behavior. I've also looped in our Engineering team to learn more.

I will let you know when I have an update or any follow-up questions. Thank you for your patience!

Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

@Brandon Lee - Thanks for the update.

Using the URL from the browser address bar is the only way I have ever used, which remains broken.

@Brandon Lee - The issue appears to be resolved for me now. Have you tried again recently?

URL Copied from the Browser Address Bar works for me now 🐨

Copying within the Confluence Page using the Paper Clip to Copy Link or Share Button do not work as you experienced in the past @Robert Johnson

@Brandon Lee - Is your ticket still open to address the Copy link generated link still not working?

I tested this, too, and still get the Please paste a value URL and try again error.

For example:

The link from the browser address bar creates a smart link:

https://realrobertjohnson.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TKS/pages/96829760/Template+-+Decision+documentation

However, using this action:

Creates this link:

https://realrobertjohnson.atlassian.net/wiki/x/QIHFBQ

Which results in this error:

I suspect Miro may come back and say there is no way for them to resolve the shortened link, however, hopefully Atlassian will be a good business partner here and help out.
