Folders (directories) in projects

Is there any update on this?  It’s been “In Development” for roughly 16 months and I haven’t seen any details on exactly what is being developed or any timeline on progress or delivery.

​@Mike Mansfield - I’ll share what I’ve discovered so far.

The solution appears to be “Sections”, and they are currently available, but only from within the context of a board, and on the desktop version. But let’s back up a bit. Projects (which were Miro’s versions of folders) are now Spaces. Miro’s version of subfolders/directories appears to be Sections - here’s a bit more about this:

The rollout and functionality appear to be very incremental as they can only be accessed from the Spaces sidebar while on a board, and the Sections created cannot currently be reordered.

Since Sections are only available from within the context of a board, I am not even using them as this time, rather I created one as a test.

I’ve tried the new Section feature and it essentially is a single level folder immediately below a Space.  While helpful, it’s also very limiting.  Like you, after testing I’m in a “wait and see” mode until they introduce Sections on the Space landing page.

Is there a rough estimate of when folders will be available?

I am actually shocked at how this is currently implemented (at the third level on boards, when it should be more upstream in the UX at the Space level). Please reconsider this, as it would be very helpful to organize at the Space level. For sections to be more of a viable feature in the actual user experience, We really need to have the ability to see them at the space level.

• Preferred ask, Implement at the Space level in the left nav as well, where we really need it. Board level is nice, but Space level is more necessary.
• Basic ask, allow a group by in the Space main window. The flat list of boards within a space is less than ideal. 
• Minimum ask, add another Section labeled column in the Space list alongside Name, Online users, Owner that we can sort by.

This is a great idea, I want to see folders on such platform as Miro!

I believe the response to this feature request is Spaces. I don’t think Miro will be implementing folders the way we all desire. Spaces is all we’re getting. Definitely not good enough.
 

​@Nedra - There answer to the request of subfolders/directories is called Sections. There should be available everyone(?), but are currently only available from within the context of a board by opening the Spaces sidebar - I expect they will eventually be available from the dashboard too.
