Unable to paste text into existing text fields (suddenly as of today)

I am currently unable to paste text into any text objects in Miro from any text source.

  • I’ve tried clearing formatting in Notepad/Sublime and then pasting back in, still no joy.
  • I’ve tried clearing my browser cache.
  • I’ve tried rebooting Chrome
  • I’ve tried rebooting my computer (Macbook Pro).
  • I can paste text into newly created text objects only.
  • I can paste a URL into a link of highlighted existing text.
  • I can paste that text into any other place or app on my computer.

The issue may be caused by the Grammarly extension for the Chrome browser.

@Isaac Epp - Great breakdown! Have you tried from a the MacOS Miro desktop app?

@Isaac Epp - I’m already thinking that--if you haven’t already--this would be worth reporting to Miro support (even include a link to this post).

Support form is here: https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?referer=hc_bug

Or, if you’re on a paid plan, you can get to it from:

@Isaac Epp - As a workaround, you could quickly using the switch type feature to change the text object to a shape and then back to a text object - this should migrate it to the updated text format:

Thx for the thoughtful responses. I’ll write up a support ticket in the morning :)

@Isaac Epp - You’re welcome!

From the other post:

I just had the same issue, 1 day ago, like you, using the browser version on Windows.

I’m using the Grammarly plugin for all my browsers. I had to disable it to be able to copy/paste again in Miro.

Check on your active plugins. It looks like a regression, either on Miro’s or Grammarly’s side.

Interestingly, it works in Incognito mode :\

Ahhh... so perhaps an extension is causing it?

Wow, how do you log a bug… the link spaghetti doesn’t seem to resolve anywhere.
