How do I love Miro - let me count the ways My story with Miro begins, like many others, shortly after COVID-19 started to rear its ugly head in Canada.  I am senior consultant working for a small project management and agile training and consulting boutique firm in Toronto, and till a month back all of our course were delivered in-person. I don’t actually know how my boss ended up picking Miro rather than some other platform, but I’m very glad that he did pick it.  We run a dozen or so public and corporate courses and over the past month my colleagues and I have spent most of our time transforming our exercises from the physical world to the virtual canvas. For some courses, this has been relatively easy whereas for others where we were using Lego bricks and other tactile materials, it took a lot of imagination. We have only delivered a handful of courses so far but the preliminary feedback from learners has been very encouraging and I can see us continuing to offer live virtual cours

Hello  I am part of the team that organise the annual innovationfestival.org  This event will be an online event this year and I am looking at how we can transition our 4 / 5 day design sprints online. Would anyone be willing to share their experience and ideas around best practice around running Design Sprints using Miro?  Do you have any specific tips to our users who are perhaps new to online cooperation.   Many thanks   Craig Stanley

I’ve been inspired by the work of Team @Hued and some other designers/users on Miro where the Miro space is made 3 dimensional. So I have decided to try this for myself. Man, it takes a bit work! I certainly have to configure myself to think of depth and perspectives.For the record, I’m using vector art in .svg to reduce size.If you have been trying this way of building Miro, share your own creation in the comments! My inspiration:https://miro.com/miroverse/the-amsterdam-house/ PS. Every month, our larger department team has a virtual team meeting. We wanted to introduce Miro as a way of injecting some interactivity into the meeting. One idea we had was to incorporate some sort of employee recognition into it so I was wondering what ideas the community had.Have you ever run activities that incorporate employee recognition or appreciation?Things to consider:There will probably be anywhere from 65-80 people attending, all virtually through Teams. Most have never used Miro and many likely haven’t used an online whiteboard. The meeting is an hour but we can count on some department updates and Q&A, so the activity should only be 30-45 minutes.

I had a chance to beta test ‘Hide Frames’ a few weeks ago. I believe now it is out.I enjoy this because it helps in my work flow as a facilitator/presenter/trainer.If you already have it, share your thoughts!  

Hello all. I am an instructional designer and trainer. In a month from now, my team will be making the switch from the in-person classroom to the digital classroom and we rely on tools such as Miro. Most of our classes are heavily discussion based and there’s a lot of back and forth instructor/student engagement.  Has anyone successfully leveraged Miro to serve as a place to direct and field questions throughout training sessions? If so, I would appreciate anyone sharing their successes and set-up. Thanks! 

I’m looking for some advice and guidance on using miro for a working group.  If they are looking to post many documents, weblinks, images etc  within key themes - what is the best way to organize this? Folders?  Multiple boards?   Is it searchable?  Can they be nested within each other? If this a good tool for curating content/cataloguing content - or would you use a different tool such as google drive?  I like the visual nature of it, easy ability to upload - but I am not sure if Miro is a good tool for such work.  We are new at using it so any advice would be great.  Thanks,Julie

Hi community!  My first post here, so nice to be part of this community.I’ve been exploring using Miro for causal loop diagrams or diagrams often used in Systems Thinking. Miro has been good for capturing elements (as text or sticky notes) and makes connecting them with different lines easier. The alignment tools allow me to align text with each other, but for more complex graphs this becomes more difficult.In an ideal world, I would love if Miro could automatically adjust the elements for easy readability. This would save me from moving each element and line around when we add more.Does anyone here use Miro for similar diagrams and found a way Miro can help focus on building and evolving a diagram, instead of fidgeting around with the layout?Thanks in advance. 

Recently, I’ve been exploring some of the major anxieties that startup companies have. Now, I am led to the question that I think a lot of us have answers to…   When starting a new project, what causes the most friction?   I’m in the tech industry (mobile apps), which means things keep changing and keeping up with new devices and software makes my job harder. On the other hand, it is the reason I have a job and I love what I do! More specifically, I use Miro to keep organized when I need to manage a change in app logic or update software from one version to the next.   But some teams in my office don’t want to use Miro! Which can cause FRICTION!

On Thursday, April 9th Can Wang and Mariana Almeida from the global freelance organization, Upwork, graciously presented our first ever San Francisco chapter V-MUG on Remote Problem Solving and Ideation. Can is a UX designer and Mariana is a user researcher, together they shared their expertise on how they manage remote distributive work, ideate, and strategize as product developers. The event showcased an introduction to Upwork, a presentation on how to effectively ideate, and a workshop of a mock ideation/brainstorming session with the audience participants. What do you like the most?   As for myself, I’ve been deejaying since 2006 and making the music events for the last eight years. Under these circumstances, I brought more than 30 international artists to Russia and built an active community of 11,000 music lovers — 170bpm.ru.   As strange as it may sound, I spent about the same time to learn how the human body works, so I usually handle the support role for my colleagues and friends if they need advice on training or nutrition. My latest love is surfing and at the moment I’m working on my project to help people to prepare themselves for this beautiful type of physical activity.   Looking forward to hearing your stories behind the job :)

Remote work and WFH is certainly growing as countries keep safe from COVID19. A lot of folks are new to working from home. I also know that a lot of Miro users have been doing this for years! So for those seasoned experts out there… How do you “switch on” to begin your work day? How do you “switch off” at the end of your work day?   Personally I don’t like working from home because I have a hard time staying focused. So I need to keep routine to “switch on” and start my work day. Get dressed in my work-casual clothes, designate a specific work area, open the computer and turn on a podcast. Switching off at the end of the day has always been easy. Once I clock out and physically close the laptop, my brain knows exactly how to divide work from home life

Hey folks!We are doing discovery to understand how can we improve Workshops & Meetings experience, and need your help! Reflecting on the workshops and/or meetings you have run, or participated in, using Miro:What are the situations, or problems, that you can’t solve exclusively using Miro native tools? (E.g. I can’t run a poll in Miro.) What other tools, or instruments, do you use to address the situations, or problems, you listed above? (E.g. A live polling tool like Mentimeter, etc.)

I’m very sure many of us in this community are business owners or work for organisations with a website presence. I too have one that I built and manage for my consultancy.However, based on my experience (and I assume for my potential clients too), trying to get a good overview of a business or an organisation can be a little painful: lots of clicking around and lots of nested information while trying to piece together a coherent big picture. Often times we also resort to sending “one sheet profile PDF” of our business (or CV/resume for job candidates) to whomever may be interested. However, anything longer than 2-3 pages can be a negative for a prospect or a hiring person.What if there’s a way to present all this information on ONE interactive page? One big picture view that gives a wholesome perspective. Presenting my hack: using Miro to tell my company’s story! #miromarketingEverything that we can do and deliver is presented in this Miro board. It would be interesting to see what folks come up for this challenge  . Mine would be to invite a few hundred of my contacts to all join me on a board which has a background image of flowers. Then, with the collaborators’ cursors turned on, have them go crazy jumping from flower-to-flower and have the whole thing recorded with the musical accompaniment of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee. Top that!

#MiroAII frequently get diagrams in images (jpg, png, gif, etc.).   It would be awesome to have an AI engine that could do an “OCR” type scan, but convert everything in the image of the diagram into an editable Miro Board with Miro Components (not just putting the image into a Board, but converting the image into Miro components in a new Board).  This would be a life changer!!!   

Hey fellow Miroers. As noted by @German Manvelov in this post, it looks like there are number of changes in the way Mind Maps, some noted in the updated Mind Maps and others not.Some of the changes:Reassigning nodes - Noted in the help article, you can now reassign a child/parent node by simply clicking and dragging it - however, as noted by @German Manvelov, this is perhaps not as polished as it could be and appears to create some challenges, especially if you you are simply try to move the node and not reassign in. Here I am just clicking and dragging a node - watch as it reassigns itself as I just attempt to move it over to the right: Creating a new Mind Map from a node - In this post by @Diy, I believe there was previously a bug where you could duplicate a mind map node using copy/cut-and-paste, Ctrl+D, or Alt+drag. Once you did, it retained its status of a sub-node which looked kind of funny on its own. However, it could still be reattached to a mind map was orphaned. Now when yo
